The objective of building a private Christian school is to obey the Scriptural imperatives of Deut. 6:5-7a: “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children,” and Proverbs. 22:6 to “train up a child in the way he should go.” Proper teaching is training.
The goal of King’s Academy, in addition to maintaining a high academic standard, is to train youth in Christian leadership principles, self-discipline, individual responsibility, personal integrity, good citizenship, and high standards of morality and behavior. Training for life must include training for eternity.
King’s Academy is a ministry of New Life Assembly. Founded to meet the spiritual needs of the children of the congregation, our doors are open to the children of all families who are living for Jesus. We believe this lifestyle should include weekly attendance at worship and home study of the Bible. Therefore, we encourage all our families to be involved in a local church of their choice. Because middle school is a crucial time in a young person’s life, church attendance is required. A pastoral letter or recommendation is to be submitted before attendance is confirmed.
King’s Academy is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Christian School Association and is affiliated with American Christian School International. King’s Academy will not seek State Accreditation because we discriminate by hiring only Christian teachers and use Christian curriculum; this would not be acceptable under state standards. Most importantly, King’s Academy must answer to God Himself for its actions and policies.
The faculty has been carefully selected on the basis of their Christian testimony, as well as education and teaching experience. They are dedicated to loving the children and providing them with a truly Christian education.
Music is an important part of our learning environment. It is integrated into the Day Care and Kindergarten daily program. First through sixth grade have chorus once a week. Piano lessons are available during school hours at an additional charge.
