Kindergarten

Our kindergarten is alive with activities, a wonderful place to further your child’s development.  We use the A Beka curriculum, an academic-based course of study which introduces number concepts, promotes mathematical readiness and builds reading skills through “intensive phonics.”  Art, music, poetry, science and Bible are integrated with developmental activities for a balanced learning experience. Children must be 5 years old by October 1st.

Elementary Grades (1-5)

Traditional classroom teaching using the A Beka curriculum gives each child a strong foundation in reading, writing and arithmetic.  Children are taught to read phonetically, producing stronger, more proficient readers, with God-honoring, high-quality textbooks and teaching aids.  With this foundation your child will be confident of success in the future.

In addition to the tradition classroom subjects we also have the following ‘SPECIALS’:

  • Music/Art
  • Spanish
  • Gym
  • Computers
  • Chapel

Extra curricular actives include:

  •  Instrumental Music
  • Cheerleading for all girls 1st through 5th
  • Basketball and soccer for 5th grade.

Middle School Grades (6 - 8)

Middle School is a crucial time in a young person’s life; a time when values are being formed that will last a lifetime.  Here at King’s Academy we recognize the importance of working with the whole child in mind, body and spirit to help them become everything God intended them to be. Preparing them to be leaders in our school and community is of utmost importance.

Academics:

We offer an advanced academic curriculum drawing from the following Christian curriculums:

  • A Beka
  • Bob Jones
  • CSI
  • LifeWay

Teaching our students responsibility, study skills, and critical thinking is a priority.  Our students are prepared to enter high school and be successful there, as evidenced by the reports on the parent comment page.

Spanish, Computers, Bible and Gym are also an integral part of the curriculum.

Sports:

  • Co-ed soccer
  • Basketball
  • Co-ed track
  • Cheerleading

Spiritual development:

  • Bible classes—teaching character development and topics relevant to their age and life experiences.
  • Junior SWAT team (Spiritual Worship And Teaching) —a leadership club devoted to spiritual growth and service.
  • Chapel—meeting once a week for praise and worship followed by an inspirational speaker.  The SWAT team takes responsibility for this service once a month.

  • Chess
